Just when I think I have some things together on the drum set, something else comes along that trips me up. While this obviously frustrates me, I strive to embrace the process. I find that it helps if I allow myself to feel whatever amount of discomfort that is present, and try again. And repeat. It also helps when I remember that pretty much everything I can do on the drum kit was uncomfortable at one point. I know that I can count on this to happen. However, I also know that I will be able to learn this new thing by staying organized and dedicating myself to the task at hand. This takes quite a bit of patience with myself. I am more successful sometimes and not so successful other times. What always helps is for me to take two or three deep breaths. And repeat.

    Hi Gregory

I’ve been enjoying reading your blog. I also completely agree with you when it comes to the power of repetition especially on the drumkit or any other musical instrument.

Looking forward to seeing some more posts.

    All the best,

    Justin 🙂
