Growing up, my drum teacher taught me the drum rudiments. I use them to this day. However, there are some that have gone by the wayside in my day-to-day playing and practicing. I’m a firm believer in trying to keep things fresh, so I’m changing that.
Some rudiments are just fun and have some great applications around the drum set. Now that I’m refreshing my hands with some long lost friends, I hope to start hearing some different things from myself. Time will tell if I find fun and musical ways around the drum kit with these.
