As stated on my home page, Gregory Tech Drum Center is a state-of-the-art facility that features professional drum sets and the latest recording, sound, and video technology. Cameras surround both the instructor’s drum set and the student’s, and large video monitors can be split to feature side-by-side comparisons of student and teacher hand and foot techniques. Students can also play along with their favorite mp3s, videos on YouTube.com, or instructional DVDs for the richest, most rewarding drum instruction experience available today.

In a nutshell, my drum teaching studio is already really fun and cool. Now, I’m going off the deep end and in the midst of a major upgrade. Here are the major changes on their way:

  • Toft ATB32 32 channel board
  • Lynx Aurora AD/DA converters
  • Pro Tools 10
  • New Apple iMac
  • Focal CMS 50 reference speakers
  • API 3124+ 4 channel mic/line pre
  • PreSonus HP60 6 channel headphone mixing station
  • Nice patch bay
  • Sterling Modular Studio furniture

Stuff has been ordered. Sometime within the next few weeks I should have boxes and boxes of things and quite a mess (temporarily).

I’m testing a Canon HD camera that’s looking promising. I’ll buy five more if it performs well. Final Cut Pro will be the video editor.

I know that there’s going to be a learning curve with all this new gear, but I’m looking forward to this new chapter for Gregory Tech Drum Center. If you’re in the Denver area, please contact me to arrange a time for a tour. It’s too much fun!
