Musical Ego and Being Humble

Earlier this week, I was humbled (once again) hearing some musicians at a jam session. Philadelphia is still relatively new to me, so I am still exploring the various places to hear music. I really enjoy hearing great music — regardless of the genre being played. For me, nothing is better than hearing players who know their stuff and can communicate to each other and the listeners. Leaving the ego at the door and serving the music is always my goal, and it’s wonderful to see and hear it from others. I was truly enjoying some music on a very high level, and came away not only humbled but also inspired. Joy.
