Every so often I meet someone who reminds me of why I do what I do — play music and teach drum set! This happened recently while I was at a jam, listening to music and talking with someone who was so excited that it almost hurt. This guitarist had never really experienced the camaraderie and the general vibe of what was happening. It was so great to see it in his eyes, his gestures — in everything. He even got up to jam because of the encouragement he received from everyone there. It was so fun to see and really fun for him.

This is something that I never want to lose — that child’s mind. It’s similar to the first time a puppy goes out to play in the snow. It’s the best! Many thanks to this young man for bringing this to the forefront for me at this point. I needed this refresher course that you delivered.
